Hello to everyone!!

Tomorrow will be our last lesson :(((.
First of all I want comment about the time spent in there:
I like the American university system because the professors give us the possibility to say what we really think!
I liked Debbie and Linda' s course because they are like a friend not like a teacher, and this is very important to feel at ease!
And and finally I want thank you all my colleagues and the professors as well!!

How can people reduce the amount of water they use on a daily basis?

The water is a primary resource for human life, which we give little weight when we open a faucet at home. Much of the world's population lives in conditions of scarcity of water resources, or they have reservoirs in unhygienic conditions. Saving water is a moral duty before an economic duty.
I will give you some examples how to reduce the water waste:
-When we brush our teeth, hands or showering, it is advisable to keep open the tap only for the time necessary to wet and rinse. Let the water run while you lather your hands or brushing your teeth is a waste;
-Take a shower can save gallons of water consumed. Instead, fill the bathtub implies greater water use;
-Do not wash the dishes under running water. Fill the bowl for soap dishes and utensils. Open the tap only to rinse;
-Install flow reducers to the water taps. The gear units or mixers allow to reduce water consumption;
-Use the washing machine and dishwasher only when fully loaded. If you slide the water before it gets that hot, instead of wasting it in a bucket to collect for other uses;
-In the garden the rainwater can be channeled into collection tanks and to allow irrigation of the garden. Watering the plants at the base because it’s useless to wet the leaves. The water should be absorbed from the soil and roots.
The growing demands from the poorest countries and its increasing shortage in the world will cause the cost of water will rise dramatically in coming years. With these simple tips, our water bill, will suffer a significant reduction and we will contribute actively to combat the waste of water in the world.

Pollution Crisis in the world

Pollution Crisis is a major problem all around the world. It has adversely affected the lives of millions of people and it is responsible for 40% of death worldwide . Currently, the pollution generated by human activities presents the most serious problem.  There are three 3 types of pollution: air pollution, water pollution and land pollution. One of the major causes of pollution crisis is the deforestation, which has caused a rise in the  pollution levels and distortion of natural order.Soil pollution is the environment problem in my country .Dumping of wastes in many areas is a major cause of Soil Pollution. Also, when soil in and near production areas becomes dirty due to disposal of waste material, such land cannot be used for agricultural operations. This is happening in Naples, in the South of Italy, where there is “waste emergency”. In this period the government is not able to control this situation, and the citizens are often on strike because they don’t want to be open landfill near their houses and additional the authorities responsible for checks, often with the consent of local governments, have been very superficial, closing "one eye" (and sometimes both) on the irregularities committed by the industries in the disposal of waste and emissions of toxic substances resulting from production processes.

 But, finding the balance is not easy in any situation and with the advent of "globalization" becomes increasingly difficult. We need a common strategy for all countries of the world. Various countries have set standards in legislation in the form of concentration levels that are believed to be low enough to protect public health. Source emission standards are also specified to limit the discharge of pollutants into the air, so that air-quality standards will be achieved. However, the nature of the problem requires the implementation of international environmental treaties and recent international summits on the subject as the last held in Kyoto proved a failure due to resistance, especially the large economic powers U.S.

Niagara Falls!!!

The Niagara Falls are a natural spectacle not to be missed! I went there yesterday and perhaps is the best thing I've ever seen in my life! I have been there in the U.S. part, although many people say it's more beautiful the Canadian part,. At first Paow, Xigna, Phina, Farzona and me went on the Observation Tower where we took a lot of pictures. The ride on the Maid of the Mist was a must: it was great to pass so close to the falls and it was impressive to hear the engine of the boat to turn up to ascend the current leg and return to idle, driven by the current. Take a boat, after being fitted with a suitable cloth cover and get down below the falls is a thrill to run out of breath.

The noise,
the wind and the water you bathe totally make this adventure one of the most exciting we have experienced during these holidays.  It’s impossible take photos when you get below the falls, the water that comes is so great that you seem to be under a great summer storm!!!After this ride on the Maid of the Mist, with our rain coat, we had continued our tour climbing the stairs under the falls, it was amazing!!!
While we were out of this attraction, we stopped to buy some souvenirs in the shop but unfortunately there remained only one hour to spend there and finally we had conclude our tour crossing the Pedestrian Bridge that connects with the goat island.
At 1 p.m. we moved to the Outlet near the Niagara Falls where I spent all my money!!!!!!!
It was a great experience, I have already suggested my friends to visit the falls because it's a magic place!

Health Care in my country

In my country, Italy, the health care is free for everybody. For example, the majority of citizens don't pay for  health insurance, but some people prefer to do so.
Usually, when we arrive at the hospital , we also pay a "symbolic fee" about U$ 30/40 for our pocket.
But, on the other hand, the medicines are very expensive, and you must have a prescription if you want to buy some medicines, and you pay for your pocket.
The dental service is not free in Italy, we usually go to a private dental clinic and it's very expensive.
If I could change one thing, I would reduce the price of the medicines.
